      MORE ON MEEROF

At Meerhof School each learner has a special educational need.  A multi-disciplinary team comprising teachers and various therapists help learners to accomplish what is taken for granted by most other learners.  The school is subsidised by the government and managed by a governing body.  But it is the unique children in the classrooms and on the school grounds that give life to the school.  Each learner at Meerhof School portrays a message of hope.  The school cares for children with cerebral and physical disabilities, various syndromes and learning disabilities.

The school follows the standard curriculum individualized for each learner.  Various learners need to work on computers, some of which are specially adapted.  The school currently caters for Gr.R to Gr.12 curriculums.  We also offer some skills training programs for learners that are not able to follow an academic course.  At Meerhof School learners are equipped to approach life with self-confidence and dignity.

     CASUAL DAY

Each year Meerhof School takes part in the National Casual Day Fundraising event in September.  This is a project for six national charity organisations serving various forms of disabilities (the blind, deaf, epilepsy, physical and cerebral disorders).  Pelchem proudly supported this event.

Uit die mond van Thatofatso
Written by Kormorant | 15 September 2011
